9 Kitchen Secrets of Top Chefs - Part 3

Analiese Gregory

Senior sous chef at Quay

The biggest kitchen splurge i’ve made is? A kitchenaid mixer. I love to make brioche and bread, but there is no way i’m kneading that dough by hand!

Dave Campbell

Co-owner and chef at Hungry Duck and Wharf Rd

The most overlooked kitchen necessities are? A good wooden chopping board and a set of knives. No self-respecting cook or chef should own a glass or ceramic chopping board – they blunt your knifes. Where knives are concerned, they don’t have to be overly expensive or fancy – they just need to be sturdy and sharp, and they’ll make life in the kitchen a whole lot more productive.

Owner/executive chef at marque and aeg brand ambassador

The best thing about my kitchen is? The layout. I’ve recently renovated, and designed the kitchen myself so everything is at hand.

My best storage solution is? Having a walk-in larder. The shelves are U-shaped with no hard-to reach places.
